Fucking finally.
Jesus Christ, took her long enough. 💀
I still, still think she needed to open her mouth after the 🇵🇷 debacle. As a Latino & Hispanic who grew up with the same crap all around me for 50 years, it's a big issue for me (and anyone who reads this and immediately goes into a rage about this post is going to ignore that, I know). It's not that she didn't do enough, it's that she did nothing on that issue when all of the other famous Puerto Ricans showed solidarity against the 🍊🤡 and for Kamala. I don't want to hear any more of her complaints about being Latina in Hollywood or blah blah blah whatever other issues she's got w Latina identity. "Wannabe Puerto Rican Dakota Fanning" should've shown some solidarity.
Thanks for using that massive platform the day of to get out the youth vote with 40+ million Gen Z's now eligible to vote (that's just about as many IG followers she has LOL). It's something. 🫠🇵🇷🇲🇽🇪🇸💙✨
#jenna ortega#but when i said FINALLY i said it in beatrice harker miller's voice#voting#at least she tagged michelle obama#so we know who she's voting for#still#vote blue#vote to save democracy#vote for women's rights#vote for 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ rights#womens rights#vote kamala#vote harris walz#election 2024#2024 election#the day of is weak#voting takes contemplation on the issues#i'm sure some crybaby stan is gonna come along and scream at me again but idgaf#but this#this is the bare minimum#celebrity influence#celebrity#celebrities#wednesday#wednesday addams#wednesday netflix#netflix wednesday#also i just woke up not long ago bc i was up until 7AM...i still wanna go back to sleep so i don't throw up#my body has incredible trauma memory and i feel fkn sick bc my brain remember how excited we were and then how devastated we became in 2016#i am in bad physical pain rn and it's not just this it's also my trip to sf yesterday that hurt me

Learning more about how elections actually work and how Trump won 2016 has gotten me thinking. All I can think is how satisfying, how poetic, how karmic it would be if Trump were to loose 2024 as he won 2016; thanks to the popular vote.
#Is it likely?#Absolutely not#It isn't impossible tho#especially since it did happen in 2016#But I'm still preparing for a Trump presidency#Something in my gut tells me something isn't right#The energy in the universe has been so weird lately#Apparently there's been some weird astrological events happening#We have two fucking moons right now#Mini moon is still in orbit for a few more days right?#The hurricanes that have been hitting us are more weird than they have ever been#And call me paranoid or a conspiracy theorist but something does not feel right about this election#Something does not feel right about a highly qualified candidate loosing to a felon game show host#I cannot believe America hates women so much that a felon is favored over a highly qualified woman#I mean I can#America really fucking hates women#But this still doesn't feel right#There's something in the air something in the energy in the whole planet that's incredibly off#Something is wrong#Maybe not with the election results#although I do think something is wrong with those in my gut#but something somewhere in the universe is off and I don't know what#And all I can think is how karmic Trump loosing to the electoral college would be#There's something in me#probably delusions but idk#that keeps thinking “this will happen”#“This was meant to happen”#“the universe is teaching Trump a lesson by having him loose as he once won”#I know this is more of an empty hope#But I will cling onto hope until the last breath I take

i haven't taken fic prompts in a long time, but the seasonal story moves too fast for me to fully write and edit a full fic about it that i'm content with. and i Need to write some erikora immediately.

Somewhere Sunrise (Begins Another Day)
Chapter 2 - Snowed In in... Not Snowdin.
Fandoms: Undertale, Inside Job
(AO3 Link Coming Soon!)
NOTES: thank you to @maddestmewmew and @hoodie-prince-kid for beta-reading this chapter! hoo boy. this one took some elbow grease... considering i haven't written the undertale characters in a while. they're fun to write, but matching their energy is... hard. nonetheless, hope you enjoy!
~~~
Snowdin didn't have half as bad storms as this one, Papyrus had noted.
The windows had been partially spared from the wrath of the winter wonderland-esque storm, allowing him and Frisk to sit and observe on the cold winter evening, peering curiously through the window.
The snow and hail had made a blindingly white blanket across the front of the house and sprinkled the trees at the edge of the wood, creating a familiar atmosphere much like his underground home.
His brother, sans, was napping (again) so he didn't join the two in the living area, instead bunking away in his small bedroom, which they both had noted resembled the one back in Mt. Ebbot to a tee, even the infamous trash tornado sitting precisely in the exact same corner.
The tall skeleton filled his head with thoughts and monologues about the winterti-
…What's that…? Near the edge of the wood, just a few steps into the yard…?
He squinted… as a form appeared in the wind…, falling over into the snow…
And coloring it red.
He leaned more into the window to try and make out a silhouette, but of course the snowy atmosphere made it difficult to see, but he could make out a few details… checking his mental list…
A human?
"FRISK. IS IT NORMAL FOR HUMANS TO BLEED EXCESSIVELY?"
Frisk tilted their head, raising an eyebrow.
Papyrus pointed out the window to let the small human make their assessment.
•○●~~~●○•
"MOOOOOM, THERE'S A DEAD OLD LADY NEAR OUR FRONT YARD!"
Frisk took off upstairs in a flash, sliding across the wooden floors like they were roller skating, except in their socks.
They narrowly dodged their dunkle sans down the second floor hallway, lost in the rush of getting to the goat woman!
"MOOOM!" They yelled once again!
…Toriel exited her bedroom and took her reading glasses off, cleaning them on the fabric of her collared shirt. "Frisk, my child, what's- oh!" They slid across the floor and crashed into her, the adrenaline gone now.
The 11 year old plopped down on the floor with an oomph.
"There's someone in the front yard!"
"What!?"
They jumped up and grabbed her paw to drag her downstairs.
"I'm not really sure that they're dead, but they looked pretty dead."
"Oh- oh, I see, I see…" She attempted to catch up to them.
"QUEEN TORIEL-"
"Just Toriel-"
"-THERE SEEMS TO BE A SITUATION! IN THE YARD!"
"I heard, Papyrus-"
"Look!" The tiny human pointed out the window.
"Frisk, there's too much snow to see-... OH DEAR ANGEL."
They were right. But…
It would be inhumane to just… leave someone out there like that.
…Hm.
~~~
Toriel closed the door shut with her hind paw. "Frisk, grab the first aid kit."
"Mom, is that-"
"They're not dead, just unconscious."
In her arms, she held a human woman, who had a very noticeable gash on the side of her head.
"OH DEAR… I WILL GRAB SOME… BLANKETS FOR OUR GUEST! SURELY WITH MY ASSISTANCE, THEY'LL STAY WARM! …COME ALONG, HUMAN FRISK!" Papyrus scooped up the child and rushed off with a nyeh heh!.
Toriel returned her attention to the unfamiliar person and eyes the gash. "How could someone have…"
…Hm.
How does someone just… appear, in a storm? Did she come from the woods near the mountain?? Do humans even live near the mountain???
...
The scenario brought up too many questions to handle.
Toriel set her down on the couch, causing her to stir just a bit…
"WE RETURN FROM OUR ENDEAVORS!" Papyrus announces, letting the blankets tumble onto the couch with a loud flomp!. "VIOLA."
"Oh! Thank you Papyrus."
Frisk pulled out the first aid kit, letting their mother get to work patching up the gash.
~~~
The house felt uneasy that night.
Toriel shifted on her spot on the couch, looking up from her book at the newest addition to the house.
The human still hadn’t woken up.
"...It's getting quite late, is it not? We should all be getting some rest."
"But what about-"
"I'll stay here in the living room tonight." She assured Frisk. “Off to bed, my child."
~~~
Let’s hope the blizzard calms down soon for our characters.
What? The new human…? You want to know if the human wakes up NOW?
We’ll see. We’ll see.
After all, if she didn’t…
…we wouldn’t have a story, now would we?

oh you've GOT to watch iwtv
thank you omg 😭 😭 i've honestly been living vicariously through tumblr posts/gifs of lestat and louis instead of mustering up the mental strength to watch the whole show. one of my favourite parts of my vampire class last semester was when someone said they watched the iwtv movie with their 12 year old without knowing there was gay sex in it
it ticks so many of the boxes i have for my favourite types of media: 1) dialogue heavy to a point where the audience almost has to pick and choose what they take away from the show 2) being gay gets combined with the part of themselves they see as a monster 3) vampires bc they literally make everything better
#it's a little funny too bc i've been a big fan of jacob anderson's music since 2016 and one day i saw him in a iwtv gif and i was like#'OH MY GOD??????'#the movie was racist towards black women too and at first i was apprehensive about watching the show bc of it but !!#with the combo of having black writers being involved in the show and seeing the overwhelming support from black fans/journalists it's good#i'll watch it soon for both of us theo i just have a few other shows i need to get to first !! i might dm you about my thoughts later

I'd like to tell you all a story about my grandmother.
My grandparents raised their children, four girls (one of them my mother), to be fighters. My aunts marched in Washington for women's rights with babies strapped to their chests and like to joke that all of the grandchildren who came from that line (including myself) were born with picket signs in their hands.
But it started with my grandparents. They fought hard for what they believed in. They marched against Vietnam. They marched for Martin Luther King. They marched for women's rights. They marched for a better future.
But let's talk specifically about my grandmother for a moment.
My grandmother unfortunately passed away in 2016. She had to watch the first Trump election and did so knowing that it would probably be the last election she'd ever see. And there is some argument there that she could have given in to fear and defeatism. She could have decided none of it was worth it, and she could have decided that fascism had won and the world was over.
But she did something else instead.
To give some context, my grandparents had friends who were Republicans. I say were, because they shifted from the normal Republican towards the MAGA Republican we see today. And despite a very clear message from my family about how we felt, they were more than ready to still come to the funeral as if everything was normal. Like their beliefs were normal. Like they were welcome to celebrate someone who had fought so hard for the rights of other people.
These were people who would have absolutely used their rhetoric to scream and shout if they were left out or disinvited.
And so my grandmother, even past her final moments, pulled the most brilliant, petty move I've ever seen.
She'd decided ahead of time that everyone who had known her was more than welcome to attend but that she wanted everyone attending the funeral to donate money. That was the requirement to be invited. And so everyone did just that. There was no talk about what the donations were for, just that they were appreciated. I want to say that the assumption was the money would help pay for funeral expenses and give the family some support while we grieved.
Except that wasn't the case.
Because in those final moments of the funeral, the rabbi stepped forward to thank everyone, and then very cheerfully announced;
"Arlene was so happy to know just how many people were coming to join us here today. She couldn't have been more proud of her family. And I'm sure she would have been elated to see just how much money you all gave today to Planned Parenthood."
When I say that the faces of those people are enshrined in my memory, I mean it. The anger, the devastation, the rage, the betrayal. It was an absolutely gorgeous display of true defeat at the hands of a boss ass old lady who literally fought with her last breath and threw up both middle fingers all the way out the door.
What I'm saying is this.
It is very easy to feel defeated. It is very easy to think that everything is over, and there's nothing left for us to do. It's very easy to say that fascism won, that fear won, that hate won.
But that's only true if you let it be true.
There is always more that we can do. There is a future that is still worth fighting for. And it's more than possible, even when it doesn't seem like it.
And fighting is going to look different every time.
Some days it will look like picket signs in our hands.
Some days it will look like spending time with friends and family and people you love and knowing that you have a community that supports you and your vision of a brighter future.
And some days, it's pulling absolute natural level 20 petty trickster shit even after you've left the world.
Because you can always make an impact and you can always add a little brightness to life, and if that means tricking a group of MAGA idiots into throwing their money behind Planned Parenthood in the middle of your own goddamn funeral then that's what it means.
Keep fighting. People have done it before you. People will continue to do it after you.
And enjoy the little victories.
(Even the petty ones)
#us elections#equality#equal rights#protesting#picketing#fighting#we can do this#we truly can#take a break and then keep fighting

The original post is already deleted, ahaha XD
Anyway, this special "Eurobarometer" for 2016 is lying to you. There is no way for Lithuania to have the highest percent in Europe in THAT, even in 2016. XD Only a person who has never been there and never talked to people there could make such statistics.
This map is really weird for several reasons: only Lithuania being highlighted strongly and Latvia, Poland, Italy, the UK and other countries who are either into Christianity or Islam (therefore, not very women friendly) having lesser percent than Lithuania??? Especially Latvia??? I love this country, but have you ever been to Latvia in the late 2010s? The number of russians there was equal to the number of russians in Belarus - and russians really, REALLY hate women. Poland, which is strongly Catholic, against abortions and divorces, logically cannot have the lesser percent than Lithuania either.
This allows me to suggest that the creators of this map were of russian origin. Only russians can hate Lithuania that much LOL
I admit that the percentage would be non-zero, considering that Lithuania regularly suffered from russian aggression - but! The mentality of the people is almost impossible to change, fortunately or unfortunately. If the people are accustomed to treating a woman as a thing, then no matter how you build an economy for them - it will change little. The example of russia is very indicative. Set a pig at a table, and it'll put its trotters on it. If at the moment, Lithuania is objectively one of the most women-friendly countries in the world, then how could it have changed so dramatically from 2016 to 2024? Either during this period, all Lithuanians were cut out completely and replaced by conditional noble Swedes (which, thank God, did not happen), or this map is fake.
People who think marital rape (or relationship rape) should not be illegal.
#gosh manipulating public opinion is soooo easy#we all know how corrupted the European organisations are these days#just look at the Red Cross and the UN#any fucking guy can make a map with accusations based on nothing about any country they dislike and boom#i am 99% sure the creators of this map have russian origin LMAO#Poland and Italy - I love you but you should have much MUCH higher percent than Lithuania#the UK too - the country in which half of people are Islamists nowadays#Islamists are not very women friendly yk#Latvia - I love you too but there is literally no way for you to have lower percent than Lithuania in 2016...

"The first modern attempt at transferring a uterus from one human to another occurred at the turn of the millennium. But surgeons had to remove the organ, which had become necrotic, 99 days later. The first successful transplant was performed in 2011 — but even then, the recipient wasn’t immediately able to get pregnant and deliver a baby. It took three more years for the first person in the world with a transplanted uterus to give birth.
More than 70 such babies have been born globally in the decade since. “It’s a complete new world,” said Giuliano Testa, chief of abdominal transplant at Baylor University Medical Center.
Almost a third of those babies — 22 and counting — have been born in Dallas at Baylor. On Thursday, Testa and his team published a major cohort study in JAMA analyzing the results from the program’s first 20 patients. All women were of reproductive age and had no uterus (most having been born without one), but had at least one functioning ovary. Most of the uteri came from living donors, but two came from deceased donors.
Fourteen women had successful transplants, all of whom were able to have at least one baby.
“That success rate is extraordinary, and I want that to get out there,” said Liza Johannesson, the medical director of uterus transplants at Baylor, who works with Testa and co-authored the study. “We want this to be an option for all women out there that need it.”
Six patients had transplant failures, all within two weeks of the procedure. Part of the problem may have been a learning curve: The study initially included only 10 patients, and five of the six with failed transplants were in that first group. These were “technical” failures, Testa said, involving aspects of the surgery such as how surgeons connected the organ’s blood vessels, what material was used for sutures, and selecting a uterus that would work well in a transplant.
The team saw only one transplant fail in the second group of 10 people, the researchers said. All 20 transplants took place between September 2016 and August 2019.
Only one other cohort study has previously been published on uterus transplants, in 2022. A Swedish team, which included Johannesson before she moved to Baylor, performed seven successful transplants out of nine attempts. Six women, including the first transplant recipient to ever deliver a baby back in 2014, gave birth.
“It’s hard to extract data from that, because they were the first ones that did it,” Johannesson said. “This is the first time we can actually see the safety and efficacy of this procedure properly.”
So far, the signs are good: High success rates for transplants and live births, safe and healthy children so far, and early signs that immunosuppressants — typically given to transplant recipients so their bodies don’t reject the new organ — may not cause long-term harm, the researchers said. (The uterine transplants are removed after recipients no longer need them to deliver children.) And the Baylor team has figured out how to identify the right uterus for transfer: It should be from a donor who has had a baby before, is premenopausal, and, of course, who matches the blood type of the recipient, Testa said...
“They’ve really embraced the idea of practicing improvement as you go along, to understand how to make this safer or more effective. And that’s reflected in the results,” said Jessica Walter, an assistant professor of reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, who co-authored an editorial on the research in JAMA...
Walter was a skeptic herself when she first learned about uterine transplants. The procedure seemed invasive and complicated. But she did her fellowship training at Penn Medicine, home to one of just four programs in the U.S. doing uterine transplants.
“The firsts — the first time the patient received a transplant, the first time she got her period after the transplant, the positive pregnancy test,” Walter said. “Immersing myself in the science, the patients, the practitioners, and researchers — it really changed my opinion that this is science, and this is an innovation like anything else.” ...
Many transgender women are hopeful that uterine transplants might someday be available for them, but it’s likely a far-off possibility. Scientists need to rewind and do animal studies on how a uterus might fare in a different “hormonal milieu” before doing any clinical trials of the procedure with trans people, Wagner said.
Among cisgender women, more long-term research is still needed on the donors, recipients, and the children they have, experts said.
“We want other centers to start up,” Johannesson said. “Our main goal is to publish all of our data, as much as we can.”"

When Tina Turner left her first husband - who was also her boss, captor, and brutal tormentor - she snuck out of their Dallas hotel room with a single thought in her mind: "The way out is through the door." From there she fled across the midnight freeway, semi-trucks careening past her, with 36 cents and a Mobil gas card in her pocket. As soon as she decided to walk out that door, she owned nothing else. When she filed for divorce, she made an unusual request. She didn't want anything: not the song rights, not the cars, not the houses, not the money. All she wanted was the stage name he gave her - Tina - and her married name - Turner. This was the name by which the world had come to know her, and keeping it was her only chance to salvage her career. Things could have gone a lot of ways from there. She could have labored in obscurity for decades, maybe making records on small labels to be prized by vinyl connoisseurs in Portland. She could have stayed in Vegas, where she first went to get her chops back up, and worked as a nostalgia act. And, of course, given what she had been through, she might have … not made it. What happened instead is that Tina Turner became the biggest global rock star of the 80s. I'm old enough to barely remember this, but if you aren't, it was like this: The Rolling Stones would headline a stadium one day, and the next day it would be Tina Turner. A middle-aged Black woman - she became a rock star at 42! - sitting atop the 1980s like it was her throne. She managed this because of whatever rare stuff she was made of (this is a woman whose label gave her two weeks to record her solo debut, Private Dancer, which went five times platinum); because she decided to speak publicly about her abusive marriage and forge her own identity, and in doing so give hope and courage to countless women; and also because - in a perhaps unlikely twist for a girl from Nutbush, Tennessee - she had her practice of Soka Gakkai Nichiren Buddhism, to which she credited her survival. She remained devout until the end. Tina's second marriage - to her, her only marriage - was to Edwin Bach, a Swiss music executive 16 years her junior. Of him, she said, "Erwin, who is a force of nature in his own right, has never been the least bit intimidated by my career, my talents, or my fame." In 2016, after a barrage of health problems, Tina's kidneys began to fail. A Swiss citizen by then, she had started preparing for assisted suicide when her husband stepped in. According to Tina, he said, "He didn't want another woman, or another life." He gave her one of his kidneys, buying her the remainder of her time on this earth and perhaps closing a cycle which took her from a man who inflicted injury upon her to a man willing to inflict injury upon himself to save her from harm. Born into a share-cropping family as Anna Mae Bullock in 1939, she died Tina Turner in a palatial Swiss estate: the queen of rock 'n roll; a storm of a performer with a wildcat-fierce voice; a dancer of visceral, spine-tingling potency and ability; a beauty for the ages; a survivor of terrible abuse and an advocate for others in similar situations; an author and actress; a devout Buddhist; a wife and mother; a human being of rare talent and perseverance who, through her transcendent brilliance, became a legend.
